One-on-One Book Coaching

So many people have thought, year after year, about writing a book. They know the story they want to tell, or they know their business is held back because of it, and they know the key to the next amazing phase of themselves is just beyond their book. But they don’t start.

Maybe that’s you. You’ve struggled to make writing a priority or doubt whether anyone will read it or if it will be good enough or if you’ll finish it if you start.

That’s where our book coaches can help. We can help you find the space in your schedule, find your target readers, give you the tools and resources to make sure your book is worthy of your name, and keep you motivated and accountable so you are fully engaged down to the last period. Whether you’re writing fiction, nonfiction, or a children’s book, we’re here to help.

Imagine your book—written and published. You’re standing with the authors and feel amazing. That’s what book coaching can do for you.

It’s magic.

Although we edit manuscripts, teach workshops, and publish books, our favorite thing is working one-on-one with clients.

There is a special bond that happens when you share your deepest hopes for your book and your future. We’ll celebrate when you reach a milestone or, even better, when you finally hold that book in your hands.

What is a Book Coach?

A writing coach will help you organize the content and keep you on track to get your book done. Our skilled and compassionate book coaches help you do just that, PLUS guide you with publishing in mind. If you choose to continue with us to publish your book, your path is easier still. Our coaches know what you need to successfully publish and make your mark as an author. You are never alone on the journey.

Are we a good fit?

We can’t work with everyone. Because of the time required to coach a writer through a book, we look for a few aspiring authors who share a similar vision and working style.

We hope that is you. And YOU want to know if we’re a good fit for you, too. So, let’s talk.

How the book coaching program works:

You and your coach will connect twice per month to answer your specific questions and to envision, organize, or craft your manuscript. We’ll set a writing schedule and check in to keep you on track.

They’ll walk you through a proven system to get the best results for YOUR book. You get to decide your goals, hopes, and vision for the book, and their job is to help you focus on the best path to get there.

They’ll be there to celebrate with you when you reach milestones and be there to help you back up when you stumble. You have a partner who is committed to your success.

They’ll read your writing and provide feedback in between sessions.

And finally, you’ll finish your book with confidence.

And when you’re done writing it, we can help you publish your book, too – send it out into the world to enlighten, inspire, teach, or simply to express your journey.

Let’s find out if book coaching is right for you.

Lois with the Happy Self- Publisher helped guide me from an idea to a finished product.  I was writing a memoir about the death of my first husband and my journey through the grief process and her experience with the writing process and expertise was crucial at times.  She helped me brainstorm ideas, organize the manuscript and get my thoughts out of my head onto paper. When there were sections that didn’t fit or needed re-organizing she gave me ideas as to where they needed to go along the way. She helped talk me through the difficult emotional highs and lows that I hit during the writing process and was very helpful when I would get stuck and feel like I couldn’t possibly move forward.  Once the manuscript was ready, she walked me through all of the in’s and out’s of the self-publishing process in an easy to follow step-by-step manner.  Her courses are very informative and I loved having the ability to refer back to the videos if I had any questions.  She was also very prompt with answering any questions or concerns that I had throughout the entire process. If you are thinking about writing a book, I HIGHLY recommend using Lois and Happy Self-Publisher as I would have been lost without her!

Jennifer C. Steele, Author of One Step at a Time

After considerable discussion about my idea for writing the story, I made a decision to go forward. I began working with Lois immediately to get some idea about how I should do this. From the beginning, she gave me valuable instructions, encouragement, and advice on how to approach my goal. Lois and I met regularly by telephone and occasionally in person. Since this was my first book, she made the blueprint and the steps involved clear and in a way that I was able to understand.  I  began writing in the late summer of 2018 with the goal of completing it within a year. During this time, I received excellent coaching and encouragement as to how to make this book interesting. Lois provided innovative ideas as to how the book would tell the story about how this man endured a devastating disease with compassion and love for those surrounding him. The success of this experience was due solely to having Lois Hoffman as my coach and publisher. This journey has compelled me to write a second book which I’m now beginning with Lois.

Bruce Hobler, Author of Willy's Neighborhood

I had a dream of publishing my own stories. Lois was referred to me through a mutual friend and I’m so glad she did. From our first meeting I could see that helping others achieve their dreams was her passion! She worked with me through every step of the process – copy editing, formats, layouts, and contacts. I am now officially a published author with a great deal of thanks due to Lois at Happy Self Publisher. I’m excited to continue our relationship with the books to follow.
